Get to Know a Car: The Stock-In Process!

Hey everyone, and welcome back to the lot! You see all these amazing vehicles lined up, looking pristine and ready to go home with you, but have you ever wondered what happens behind the scenes to get a car ready for the spotlight? Well, today, I'm pulling back the curtain and giving you a look at our “Stock-In” process. It's a journey that every single car takes to ensure it’s perfect for you. Let's dive in!

Part 1: The First Impression

When a new vehicle arrives, it's a bit like a first date. We have to get to know it and make sure it's everything it seems to be. We start with a full inspection using our "Inventory Stock In" form. We're talking a deep-dive, bumper-to-bumper check for any flaws. This form is the start of a car’s official file here, so we're meticulous. While we're at it, we top off all the fluids and make sure the gas tank is full. We want a car that's ready to roll! If we find anything that needs a little TLC, we get our on-duty mechanic on the horn right away to coordinate any necessary repairs.

Part 2: The Digital Footprint

Once the car gets our seal of approval, it’s time to give it a digital life. We hop on the computer and enter all its details into our Frazier DMS system. This is where we create a comprehensive record, from the VIN and color to the mileage and purchase history. It's all about transparency and making sure we have every detail at our fingertips.

Next, we handle the official paperwork. We head over to the Oregon DMV website to create a “dealer notice of purchase,” which is a crucial step to make sure everything is legal and legit. If, for some reason, the DMV says "No record found" (which can happen with certain vehicles), no problem! We simply complete a VIN inspection form to verify the car's identity, because we believe in double-checking everything. We also make sure we have the vehicle's invoice, and if we don’t have it already, we track it down right away. All of this goes into a dedicated deal jacket, labeled and filed for safekeeping.

Part 3: Ready for the Showroom (and the Street!)

Now for the fun part! This is where the car truly gets its glow-up. We hand it over to our detailing team with specific instructions based on our initial inspection. Once they’ve worked their magic, we give it a final look-over to make sure every nook and cranny is perfect.

Then, we add the finishing touches. Plate frames and inserts go on, and we move the car to a great spot for its photo shoot. We have a specific protocol for our pictures and videos to ensure you get the best possible view of the vehicle from every angle—inside and out. We take shots of the exterior, the interior, the engine bay, and even create a video walkaround so you can get a real feel for the car from the comfort of your home.

Once the photography is done, we strategically park the car on our lot. We want it to have good visibility, and we might even use its placement to highlight a specific feature or conceal a minor, unfixable flaw. We also place the price on the window, along with some of our eye-catching advertising slogans.

Finally, we print a buyer's guide and tape it to the window—because we want you to have all the information you need right there on the spot. We also update our DCS advertising program with the compelling description we wrote, highlighting all the best features of the car, its condition, and what makes it special.

And just like that, a new car is officially on the lot and ready to find its new owner! This entire process is designed to ensure that every vehicle you see is of the highest quality and that you have all the information you need to make a confident decision. So next time you're on the lot, you'll know exactly what it took for that car to be ready for you.

See you on the lot!
